Foods in Cambodia Vol. 1

I had a chance to visit Cambodia in Jan 2025. It was an unforgettable memory for me to visit Ankor Wat, a World heritage Site that I have wanted to visit for a long time. there but I didn’t really know about Cambodia. Cambodia was very exciting country, and its the same Asian country and was reminiscent of the old Japan.

Cambodia experiences a tropical monsoon climate and has rainy and dry seasons.In rainy season, the southwest monsoon brings heavy rain and in dry season,it brings dry and hot weather. They grow a lot of rice in Cambodia, so the food menu inevitably be made with rice such is noodles made with rice flour or fried rice.The open markets are filled with local seafood and agricultural products, and many people came to shop there. 

I went to a local open market and tried to cook some food but I found it very difficult that in a place where tap water was not safe to drink.And also there was something about food that I had no idea what it was .I was so curious that when I asked locals what is was, the language barrier got in the way. Some of the foods that I had no chance to try but I tried fruits I had never seen before, sugarcane juice and anything else I could try.
